Ardele Ruth Johnson Gordon, 77, of Panama City Beach, Florida, died on July 8, 2022 at her home. Ardele was a resident of Parkside, PA before moving to Panama City Beach, FL. She was a proud member of the Parkside United Methodist Church and after its closure she became a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Brookhaven. Ardele was also a member of the first graduating class of Sun Valley High School in 1963. She remained an integral part of the class and its many reunions and get-togethers. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts.

Ardele was an elected official for nearly 50 years as a member of the Republican Party. First, as a Councilwoman and then as President of Council and ultimately, Mayor in the Borough of Parkside. She also presided twice as the President of Delaware County Boroughs Association. She dedicated her life to the service of her community.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved being with her grandchildren. Ardele was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Theodore Gordon Sr. and her daughter, Lisa Richardson. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Tiedeken (Shawn); son, Theodore Gordon Jr. (Traci); her grandchildren, Jeff Tiedeken (Madeline), Rachel Tiedeken, Bayley Searfoss, Aidan White and Abigail White; and her sister Carol Yourgalite.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at Christ United Methodist Church, 600 Dutton Mill Rd, Brookhaven, PA 19015. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm followed by a 3 pm service.
